Holding the pen
• grip the pen between your thumb and forefinger.
• rest the pen on the side of your middle finger.
• extend your pinky finger slightly for extra stability.
• keep your wrist straight, not bent to the left or right.
• use your entire arm to move the pen.
• keep your nib at the proper angle 45°. The pen angle will create thick and thin strokes ( see illustration ).
• form each stroke by keeping the nib tip in contact with the writing surface.
• use light yet consistent pressure on the paper.
